Summer Seersucker Set GIVEAWAY!!

It’s getting hotter and hotter here in the South and with it comes the thought of whites and natural clothing to ward off the sun.  I know I personally have quite a few of those loose blousy shirts in my wardrobe that are pulled out when the temps rise!  Today’s set is based off Anthropologie pieces but I got a little bit more creative with the details.

This set from Anthro is something that I would wear during the Summer on a day to the flea market or to wander Callaway Gardens. I love the little lace and gathered details on the shirt.

For the Anthro Kids set I set out to go through my vintage lace stash to find something comparable when I happened upon these 2 antique triangle pieces…I knew they were different but they “spoke” to me and my mind started whirling. Then I happened upon a bolt of seersucker in the brightest white and things started to come together.  I ended up doing the top sleevless as it worked best with my vintage lace pieces.  The top closes at the neck with vintage buttons for easy on, easy off and has cute little button details at the back.

For the pants I got out another piece of ticking inspired seersucker.  They have vintage lace at the side legs which gather up with another piece of vintage lace.  The waistband is elastic for ease and fit.

Today’s set is made as a 6-8!  I promise next week there will be a wee one’s set for all baby and toddler moms!

Winner of the Ruffle Dress GIVEAWAY

My apologies to all my followers, this weekend got away from me with other projects and the winner of the ruffle dress was just chosen this morning.  Because of my oversight this week, another name was chosen out of the hat and will receive a $15 GC to the Vintage Duck Etsy store or for any custom!

RUFFLES! This week’s GIVEAWAY!

I don’t know about you but I adore ruffle details.  Ruffles give that simple outfit panache, that there is something completely special about it.  One thing Anthropologie does fantastic is details..and ruffle details are usually spotted throughout each line, sometimes in an unexpected place, sometimes in the most obvious such as a hem detail.

I ran across this Anthro sundress and immediately fell in love, not only for the green on black (one of my favorite color combos) but because the ruffles are not so overly girly but it just gives this sundress a unique feminine touch without going overboard.

Today’s giveaway dress is my version of this little sundress. Sized at a girls 6-8.  Unfortunately there was no green to be found in my stash but I another color I love to see with black is hot pink, and thankfully I had the perfect zebra hot pink cotton (Thank you to a sweet friend) to pair with my black and white print.   I also decided to make this version into a halter for a bit of variety.

Wrap around Blouse and Bowtie Shorts…Giveaway!

OHHH how I wish I had a wee one right about now, the Anthro Kids Giveaway for this week is completely adorable!  Two of my favorite Anthropologie pieces this spring is the Wrap around Blouse and Bowtie Shorts, and, yes, of course I would wear them together.  Not only do I love stripes but seeing navy blue and yellow together just makes me happy!  Here are Anthropologie’s versions:

I dug in my fabric stash and found a great striped stretch cotton to use for the shirt and then came across this yellow, almost Hawaiian batik look cotton for the shorts.  The fabrics are not exact to Anthro but it made a great combination nonetheless.

I decided that these two pieces would translate well to our wee little ones, so I decided to make this one an 18-24 month set!  I revised the top for a little bit of a more summery look, and shortened the tie for saftey. The shorts have the little bowtie on the outside of each leg and an elastic waist band for comfort.  I do have an embellishment of a cute daisy at the neckline, which can be taken off if you choose.  I also made up a stretchy headband to complete the set!

NOW, for this giveaway..it will run from this evening, Monday April 18 till Friday April 22 at 12pm EST at which time I will tally the entries and choose yet another winner!!
